Products involved in the order: Sanlei SQUEEZE Decompression Silicone Material 10K Puffs Electronic Cigarette
Customer's Country: German e-cigarette suppliers (Germany is a country where the legal sale of e-cigarettes is permitted, subject to regulations requiring nicotine content ≤20mg/ml and safety warnings in German on the packaging)
Customer Type: Berlin trendy product chain store distributor (covering 5 stores in young and trendy shopping districts)
How the customer was acquired: The German customer browsed the Sanlei website (the customer initiated an inquiry after searching for the keyword "decompression e-cigarette")
Products and quantities purchased by the customer: Sanlei SQUEEZE 10K Puffs vape cigarette, 6000 units (Flavors: Mango, Blueberry, Lemon, Caramel Pudding; Hand-painted wave dot colors: Pink-orange gradient dots, Blue-purple nebula dots, Yellow-green lemon dots)
Total project value: US$108,000
Initially, the size and distribution of the hand-painted dots varied too much, causing the client to worry about a messy store display. Sanlei adjusted to a "template base + manual fine-tuning" model: unifying the basic dot size and color scheme, while retaining slight variations in the dot arrangement of each unit (to highlight the handcrafted attribute). A quality inspection standard of "80% consistency + 20% uniqueness" was set, and after 3 small-batch trial productions, the client's requirements were met.
Challenge 2: Local Adaptation of the Caramel Pudding Flavor
The initial samples were too sweet (suited to Asian tastes), not meeting German consumers' preference for "mildly sweet milky flavor + caramelized layers." The Sanlei R&D team replaced 1/3 of the sweetener with light cream extract and added caramelized malt powder to enhance the flavor layers. After two rounds of blind testing with samples, the "local adaptability" of the caramel pudding flavor reached 90%.
